Point the Way wins second prizePoint the Way is an advanced GPS navigation system for the visually impaired which capitalises on new developments in mobile, navigation and location technologies.

Having proved the viability of the technology, Point the Way GPS are now focusing on optimising navigation from a blind person's perspective. Point the Way is being developed and evaluated in collaboration with the National Council for the Blind of Ireland.

O2      Team DAFT
Point the Way recently placed two Android smartphones aboard the Team Daft yacht taking part in the Round Ireland Yacht Race. We relayed data about the boat and also gathered valuable data on the strength of O2's network off the Irish coast. Equipment and support was supplied by O2 Ireland.
